Texting Tips - Send a Photo


While many have mastered the tools for their cell phones, some may find tips helpful in maximizing communication with friends and family members. The old saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words," is quite true. Many people enjoy sending pictures to tell stories of family events, travel, and holidays. If you would like help on sending your photos, below are some simple instructions: (These instructions are based on an Apple phone.)


  1. Take a photo with your cell phone. (Click the "Camera" Icon on your home screen.) The photo will automatically save on your phone.

  2. Access the picture to share by selecting "Gallery" on your phone or simply selecting "Camera" again to see the last photo at the bottom of the screen. (Tap on the photo.)

  3. Select the photo you would like to send. A check mark may show in the corner of the photo.

  4. Next, at the bottom of your screen you will see an icon that is a box with an arrow pointing up. Click this icon.

5. At the bottom of the screen you will see options on how to send. Select "Messages".



6. You will be promoted at the top of the screen to enter the phone number after the "To". If you have a saved contact number, you may simply start typing the name to retrieve.



7. The photo you are sending will be on the screen and underneath you can add a message or comment if you like.

8. Complete your task by simply clicking the highlighted arrow at the bottom of the photo. If you would like to ensure your picture was sent, go back to the home page of your phone screen, select the message icon, and your message should be at the top of the screen.
